About Us

On Wings of Love is an Arizona-based non-profit foundation, established in September, 2003. It was founded on a single idea by James Meade, Msc.D. and his wife, Phyllis Meade, M.A., a kindergarten teacher. They discovered collectible teddy bears left over after Christmas 2001, and set to work creating "The Lost Bears Club". This club began the roots of what has become a growing organization-- On Wings of Love Foundation-- based upon the premise that  love and compassion are the most fundamental needs of humanity. On Wings of Love is not affiliated with any religious, ethnic, cultural, or economic group, and seeks to foster love and understanding across a broad panorama of society. With a fundamental philosophy of sharing from the heart, On Wings of Love reaches out through education and charitable projects. The On Wings of Love mission is to bring healing, hope, and joy through doing, and to leave no heart untouched by the potential of love.

Early in 2003, Dr. Meade and a core group of people started to formulate the basic concepts and guidelines of "On Wings of Love Foundation". In September of 2003,  non-profit status was granted by the Arizona Corporation Commission. Today, the foundation has a board comprised of 18 dedicated members. Because of their dedication, operating expenses are less than 2% of all contributions collected. In addition to the Arizona parent organization, state chapters are being established in Northern California, Michigan, and New York, with anticipated growth throughout the U.S. On Wings of Love is also looking forward to creating a youth outreach chapter to provide energetic efforts in hands-on community projects and fundraising for On Wings of Love activities.
